WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

You know how they do those segments on child stars so you can see what type of adult they turned into? Well that is exactly what I decided to do with this blog post. The only difference is, is that I am not a child star. I am just a washed up basketball player who has too much time on her hands now that her glory days are over. It was a fun ride while it lasted, and you are probably wondering what I am doing with my life now that I am a semi-retired athlete. Well I am here to tell you what I have been up to! This will help save us from having to engage in small talk and, you won’t have to ask me what I am doing with my life, unless y’all are hiring…

It has been a year since I graduated from American University and hung up my basketball shoes. I occasionally bring them out of retirement when I have to show people that I was pretty decent. This year has flown by and I have had my share of ups and downs, and growing pains, but I would not change anything about this year (maybe a few things). Anyway, I decided I would earn my keep and get a job after graduation…Still not sure if this working life is for me, but I have a few years to figure that out. I currently work for a non-profit in Washington, D.C. If you have ever seen the show Insecure by Issa Rae, then you know exactly what type of work that I do. To my family and friends, I am still single and ready to mingle. That is one thing that has stayed consistent since graduation. But if y’all know any men 6’0 and over tell them to hit me up.

This is the paragraph where people talk about all the cool things that they’ve done since graduation. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you won’t be seeing that here. My newfound free time consists of looking up new hobbies to try, trying them out, and then realizing I am not about that life. It is a never ending cycle of disappointment. The other half of my free time consists of cooking and baking, then working out to make up for the unhealthy decisions that I made. It is all about balance. Sorry we couldn’t catch up longer, but my lunch break is over and I really don’t want to get fired. I can’t wait to share with you guys what life after college is like and how all those years of playing sports is helping navigate adulthood. Until then here are so pictures to show how post grad life has treated me!
